.....which is called 'Synergy'. Has anyone here played it and can recommend it? I found an in-game clip on youtube and it looked great.
I'd like to get hold of some feedback from coop veterans like you guys. I'd be interested to know how stable it is, sometimes these home-made mods can be a bit dodgy.
Cheers.

Synergy is really good, I've played the single player HL2 in co-op from the return to City 17 all the way to the end and it was almost flawless. A few glitches but really nothing that impacted the game.
My gripe with Synergy it should be a mod for a mod. By that I mean a component for co-op play which others can add their own campaigns and re-package each campaign as a standalone mod.
Some of the levels that come with the game are poor, it's either stupidly hard or they are just throwing enemies at you.
I feel if it was a mod for a mod then other really talented mappers would move over, take that Minerva mod. If he adapted it for Synergy, his own creation kinda gets second place as it'll be the Synergy front end and setup. If it was Minerva: Synergy, which gave you the full dedicated Minerva experience but using co-op synergy code in the background that would be much better.
I digress.
It's really worth it, don't be put off by some of the maps that come with it, if you got them play the original HL2 episodes and there's probably many more good campaigns to download too.

Thanks very much for the feedback. I'll definitely be getting it now.
Those vast levels from the Half-Life 2 campaign......wow. I get the impression it will be a different kind of coop experience to what I'm used to, namely claustrophobic close-quarters tactical shooters such as Raven Shield and SWAT4.
Perhaps it will be a little like the original 'Unreal'. Though I'm not sure if anyone remembers playing that on coop.
Cheers.

Yeah its much faster paced and arcadey in comparison to SWAT and R6.
It's a shame the gun fights with the combine aren't as action packed as the ones with the soliders in HL. They just seems more "run away and re-group, supress and flank" but the combine just come straight at you.
